We are looking for an experienced Freeze-Drying Specialist for a consulting assignment with an international company within the life science and diagnostics industry.

In this role, you will work with freeze-drying process development, optimization, scale-up and troubleshooting, supporting both existing products and new product development. You will collaborate closely with R&D, production and other technical functions in a regulated environment.

The role is well suited to someone with a strong scientific background who has gained hands-on experience within freeze-drying and is ready to take greater responsibility in technical projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support and drive freeze-drying optimization and improvement activities

• Participate in the development of new freeze-drying cycles/recipes together with R&D

• Support scale-up and transfer of freeze-drying processes to production

• Troubleshoot freeze-drying processes for existing and new products

• Contribute scientific expertise within freeze-drying and related technologies

• Participate in cross-functional technical projects

• Support process changes and continuous improvements in a regulated environment

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline

• A few years of relevant experience from industry or applied research

• Hands-on experience with freeze-drying (lyophilization) and/or spray drying

• Experience with solid-state characterization techniques such as DSC, DVS, microscopy, SEM and/or XRPD is preffered

• Ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams

• Good problem-solving skills and a practical, scientific mindset

• Excellent written and spoken English

You should be comfortable working across laboratory, production and office environments and enjoy combining scientific understanding with practical problem-solving.
